Newbie here and decided to go for some bib shorts and leg warmers
Don't want something cheap which will chaff, stitching uncomfortable against skin, poor padding or fall apart after a few washes or become transparent

What do you recommend.
Are leg warmers comfy with the grippers on thighs and calves?

I was thinking sub £50 for bib shorts but will be used all year round
Had a look on wiggle and dhb roubaix ones £35

If you can up your budget slightly go for Castelli. I have bib shorts and bib tights in this brand, and I find them superb. Buy a size up though as they are on the small side. I am normally medium in everything but the large Castelli stuff fits like a glove.

Doodah, I'll have a look but the price, features, reviews of dhb roubaix ticks the boxes

dhb stuff is pretty good, but I don't think the padding is as good, but that is just a personal opinion. I do have some dhb kit, jersey and base layers and I am very pleased with it. With dhb also buy a size up as they tend to be on the small side.
