Put the new wheels on the hybrid tonight, but realised that the jockey wheels were hitting the spokes when in bottom gear. So I fixed that using the limit screws...etc, but now when I change down, the mech won't reach to the bottom two gears. It's almost as if there's not enough tension in the gear cable, but I've got it as tight as I can get it. If I tug the cable manually, then it's fine. What could it be?

Yeah, I undid the clamp bolt, then re-attached it. No joy. I think I'll try a new gear cable.

Get the chain on a big cog on the cassette, then use the shifter to 'change' to a small cog, but do not turn the pedals at the same time.

Loosen clamp bolt, pull through a bit of cable, tighten clamp bolt.

Thanks mate, I'll give it a whirl.

I've just realised that the wheels I've purchased aren't suitable for the tyres I've got. Shimano R501s are apparently only suited to 19c-28c tyres, and my hybrid tyres are 32c. I'm having a nightmare this evening!
