Two issues but maybe related......
1. When in the top half of the block and big front ring...if I pedal backwards, for example at traffic lights, the chain drops onto the next smallest sprocket. It then goes back up once I set off.
2. Every now and then, when dropping down from the large to middle ring at the front, I get a crunching or banging noise....kinda like pulling the rear mech backward then letting go quickly...if that makes sense.
The rear mech is SRAM .9. I'm thinking either the mech is stuffed, although I have recently cleaned and straightened it, or the large ring is worn. The chain was replaced about 400 miles ago and is showing 'no go' on the gauge 0.75, ie it's okey dokey.
Mind you, I did have some chain slip on the smallest rear sprocket the other day, when riding with pennine Paul, could it just be the block?
