Hi all I've just cut my chain to length on my triple chainset but the chain is touching the rear cage I don't think it looks right any thoughts?

That looks like a short cage derailleur and the cassette is what 32/34t?. What's the recommended capacity? What is shifting like? You might be better to off with a med/long.
Did you do big to big +2 links?
Jockey wheel doesn't look too near the cassette.

You’re right the short cage derailleur is not compatible with the cassette that’s fitted. I have had the same problem myself with a build, you live and learn!

It's a long cage derailleur I've had another look it's OK in the bigger front gears but the small chainring and the small cassette ring is the problem but then again you shouldn't use the granny ring and the hardest gear I suppose.

It's a shimano tiagra 9 speed with a 105 chainset I've been messing around with the b screw I'll take another look tomorrow. I put a 32 on the back iput a new chain on today as I had a 25 on the back. The chain is moving well through the gears but when the gear is in the smallest gear and the hardest gear is really close.

re the B screw only adjust it with the chain on the smallest chainring and largest cassette and then adjust the B screw so that the chain neatly passes from the derailleur to the cogs with around 5mm clearance

I've just found this on the Internet so it looks about right with the slack chain on the small small chainset.

That screenshot is about right.
The chain MUST be long enough to go round the largest ring and the largest sprocket: no 'ifs' no 'buts' (plus minimum one inch of chain).
You may not intend to select that combo but it will happen. If the chain is too short it will be attempted and then your RD will break and maybe go into your spokes for a bonus.
In the images the chain is 'just' long enough.
If on small-small the chain interferes with the cage it doesn't matter: and will alert the rider that they should be in their middle ring pronto.

Agree, I had put a larger cassette on without putting a longer chain on and one frosty icy morning taking it very carefully and slowly shifted onto the largest sprocket while still on the largest chainring. One new derailleur needed.

It's a nightmare I've been at it all morning I've changed 2 dérailleurs but still the jockey wheel/ cage is to close to the cassette I've adjusted the b screw right down but no good.
