Rear Derailieur Damage... Help!

Thought id take the bike out for a quik 6 mile blast down the road before the dark set in (and the tea was in the oven), i get to the top of saltwell park bank and shift up into a looser gear when i hear the chain come loose.

When i looked down the arm on the bottom of the derailieur had caught the spoke and the wheel had twisted this all the way round until it stopped the rear wheel.

Luckily there isnt any spoke damage, but can any tell me what the postmortem is on this please and the cost associated with replacing like for like. I was going to sell the bike this week to make way for my new one

New Tiagra rear mech would be circa £25. Don't know if you can just change the cage. Jockey wheels and hangers aplenty but cages aren't showing up on a cursory search, might want to ask at your LBS to see if they stock parts

NEw mech, and check the hanger isn't bent.

thanks for the info, i think id have to change the full rear mech, i'm just about to take it off now so ill up load a photo.

Is mine the 4500 or the GS? Its off a 2008 Specialized Allez. Thanks

Just taken it to bits and found that a small piece that is screwed to the frame is bent also (which ive just found out is the hanger.

The cage is really screwed up also, do you think the mech is damaged? I cant find tiagra long cage mechs on ebay which is spec'd for my bike.

Will a medium cage suffice??? anyonee??
