hi,

Just bought a cheapish Wilkos rack for the GFs Muddy Fox hybrid and the rack once fitted leans too far towards the seat. She would prefer the rack to be as level as poss. Unfortunately the unusual way the frame is shaped, the bikes size and the location of the brakes means that the only solution is to somehow get longer stays (the flat metal arms that join the front of the rack to the threads on the frame. (P clips aren't going to work in this instance)

Does anyone know where I can get hold of longer stays please?

I had a similar problem, so I got a couple of these kind of brackets from B&Q (only the flat kind, not the bent ones) and put them between the P clip & the rack fixing point. It wasn't very pretty, but it did the job. I also needed to file down the sharp corners.
