I noticed a bike on ebay with the rear brake caliper positioned in front of the chain-stays. Are there and advantages or disadvantages to this?

What's happening at the front brake? Cable seems to going to a lever being the stem?

Edit ignore me, it was an optical illusion. It's just the lever for the RD.

Rear brake has been spun round so the cable guide on the right of the top tube lines up with the cable clamp of the brake arm..... Frame has been made for callipers like Weinmann etc.

Disadvantage, braking will pull on hanger which might cause it to eventually fail

It only works with larger frames. It does keep the brake clear of a large saddlebag.
