....today to go for a nice 20 odd miles but the mind was not in the mood. So what did I do? I raised the saddle of my MTB and went to buy a tin of cat food down the road ( about 1.5mile return). My excuse for not taking my road bike was that the wind is strong and it is now raining slightly. I am a fair weather rider you know!
I did cut the grass ( last time this year), took some rubbish to the tip, washed the car ( in car wash) and painted a door.
Now I feel guilty for not going out as it is too late but at least my bike is still clean and dry.
Should I really feel guilty or was my body telling me to have a rest?
The good thing is that there is always tomorrow.:hello:

Your body was telling you to have a rest but your body is also telling you that you should feel guilty for doing so. Personally i would suspect that your body was just feeling lazy and took advantage of your trusting nature to get out of the hard miles that it should have been doing.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I wanted to go on a club run this weekend, i instead spent the entire weekend setting up the nursery for the arrival of mini me #2 .

The baby is not due till January but i wanted to get it sorted

Oooh, congratulations.

I've been out for two club rides this weekend. And cleaned the road bike twice and the Marin once.

I should have been out for a ride this morning at 08:00, finally got up at 13:00  I felt like a ruddy teenager.

So my penance was to take the dog out, and then my conscience pricked me to the extent that the dog walk turned into a dog jog. I have to say I did feel better for it, and I'm convinced I have atoned for my slothful state this morning

Your not alone, I should have done the club ride today, got up but never went, mojo awol. Most of us do it, and feel guilty about it, either the body wanted a rest or you weren't right mentally, we can get stale if we over do it. Just look forward to the next ride.
