I am inexperienced in the world of cycling etc so go easy:smile:

I have recently purchased a carrera subway 2 and need to put the rear back on after repairing a punture

the wheel uses a quick release mechanism.

the problem is seem to be unable to quite get the quick release spindle ends back onto the drops in order to secure wheel back on the bike.

is there any guides/advice available for this?

cheers

Ive never used disc brakes but I guess its the same by pulling the brakes before clamping the wheel shut helps line up the wheel so pads aren't rubbing I assume this will be the same for disks.

I give it a go later

thanks for the tip

Don't ever pull a disc brake lever when the rotor isn't in place. The pistons/pads will move inwards but when you let go of the lever they wont return fully. You'll then end up having to get a screwdriver to lever the pads back apart.

If you take the quick release out of the wheel and put the bike into 'top' gear then you'll find it slightly easier.
