On both my bikes the cables are rattling and its driving me mad,,. Where they all come out from the handle bars and kind of pass over each before going there own way, they are rattling against each other.

I've cut up an old inner tube and stuck this around the cables with double sided tape to try and stop them touching, but with all the rain, they fell off, and their rattling again.

Is there any way to stop this??? I've looked at the cables and there don't look to be much i can do to re-route them.

Is this a problem that everyone has, and one to get use to??

Buy some grommets from B&Q , cut into one side and slide them over the cables.

Those rubber widgets look ok. I think i'll have a wander down B&Q first though to see what grommets they do

With the cable ties,,the brake and gear cables move in different directions when turning the handle bars, so cable tying them together will stop them moving,,unless i'm wrong???

With our lovely smooth roads, its a constance rattle there,,would be nice to have a quiet rattle free ride,,
