I can see the venom-laden 'pens' (well, keyboards) being loaded ...
I just bought a Rapha cycling cap - one-size fits all cheapies are too big for my head so I had to look upmarket for caps in smaller sizes and lo - Rapha does one (several, in fact) so I sent off for one on Thursday night (usual late-night internet shopping
). And a red woolie winter cap from the sale items, while I was at it.
Arrived this morning - such a lovely experience opening the packet to find a nice looking inner sleeve with aforementioned caps nestled within. They fit well and look, well as good as a cap is going to look. The red woollie one is actually rather flattering, the white cloth one less so but it will do the job of keeping the rain out of my eyes.
Now I'm sure the poo-poo-ers will be along shortly but consider this. My last cap I got in 1994 - it was a dayglo pink freebie advertising the Swiss equivalent of the RAC and it's OK except when it's windy when the overlarge peak (as it's more of a baseball cap than cycling biretta) means it gets blown off. If I'd paid £25 as for the Rapha one, it would have worked out at less than 3p a week. Even if the Rapha one doesn't last as long or I give into temptation and buy another before it wears out, it's not much for a well made, good looking, functional item.
But the problem is, it would be nice to have a selection to match my various jerseys
