New project pick up today. Doesn't look too bad. New tyres, cables etc needed. I'm guessing early 80s. Anybody see anything that's not standard
Thanks. The tape will need replacing but I'd like to keep it authentic can you still get this type of tape?Looks absolutely standard and unmolested to me, even down to the saddle and bar tape 😊
Raleigh's finest gas pipe. Eighties some time. Looks like it had little use.
These were basic racers sold as entry bikes to young lads.
This one is unusual in it's quite a large size, about 23 1/2" I'd guess.
Good luck with it, should scrub up nicely
Thank you. After a quick look this stuff from the US looks like it should suit:

You might find some in the UK. I'm sure someone on here will know.
If you know where you can but the origional tape let me knowI have one in red with a 60 cm frame, too big for me, but I did thousands of miles on it before I got married. Like yours it still has the original tape but its a lot tattier. Currently partially dismantled and next in line for a return to the road.
If I find a source I'll get back to you, though I think I might just go for a near match when it comes to it.If you know where you can but the origional tape let me know
