Can anyone help roughly date this which I have just started restoring at work?
Guessing it's the Sports rather than Superbe. Removable seatstays, full enclosed chaincase. Had the old, old type 3-speed shifter.
At some point, maybe about 20 years ago, it has been dipped in the towbar factory primer paint tank - testament to the quality that even after being dipped, the hub gear seems to shift OK (and will be cleaned up when the wheel is dismantled to lace onto new westwoods)
26 x 1 1/2 (rather than the 29 x 1 1/2) rims
Thinking of a dark green finish rather than the black...should go well with the brooks saddle which is far from beyond restoration
