Must remember when someone says to me that they have an old bike I can have , not to yes till I have actually seen it .

A neighbor of my parents said to me last week about an old bike in his shed he no longer wanted . So I popped in tonight and came away with this

It can go in the to do pile for time being

your gonna need a really big tub of elbow grease....... View attachment 371130

And the rest

Hopefully i have some of the old style trigger leavers stashed away somewhere so might just cable the rear one up first to see what else is needed as hard to tell when you only have 1 gear in operation

No pleasing some people!! Those old Raleigh mtbs are very popular.

Looks like a bike from the 90s with very little if any rust and i am sure with a bit of tlc it could last another 25 years, if needed i may have some trigger shifters(7 speed i think) in a parts box.

A bike like that is great and with the 36 spoke wheels could even be used for touring, shopping or commuting, looking forward to finding out its destiny.

It may never be worth a lot of money but the smiles per mile value of that bike may be higher than most.

Is it a cromo frame Martin? The forks suggest not, but me could be in error.
