Hey there

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...rtNumber=133218&storeId=10001&ddkey=ClickInfo

Im looking to get back into cycling again, and have seen this deal on Halfords, and just wondering is it worth it. Is this bike decent enough?

Im looking for a bike mainly to go on cycle paths, but also looking to do some forestry trails and want to be able to go on paths that aren't tarmac/paved. Do i need a MTB or would a sturdy hybrid be better suited? Im looking to use the bike for around 40-50 miles a week, possibly more now in the summer.

I have read on here that if you are getting a bike with sus then dont bother speding less than £500 so maybe i should get a bike with no sus?

Im a 32" leg and 6 1" so would this frame size be ok? Im not looking to spend more than £300-320 with a helmet and chain included in that price. I was intrigued by this bike because it has been reduced from £320 so maybe its a decent bike?

hope thats not too many q's, any help would be very much appreciated:smile:

Cheers

The glide seems like a lot of bike for the money .

My wife has a Raleigh Pioneer which I borrow when mine is off the road.My hybrid doesnt have suspension and is really bonejarring on rough forestry tracks,I put up with it as most of my riding is on tarmac. When I ride the Pioneer on tracks it is a much more enjoyable ride but it is much slower on tarmac. It is basically the same bike as the glide .

I think the glide will be fine for paths and gravel tracks but maybe not good enough for any heavy duty mountain biking and will be slow on tarmac.

theres a sizing guide on the Halfords website http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...Id_562154_langId_-1_categoryId_173027#Bikes03

I'm happy enough with mine ;)

It is OK as a "do I want to get into cycling" taster and its good value at £160 but I'm hooked now and already planning what to buy next

That looks remarkably like the raleigh tundra me and a friend got from halfrauds a few years back - the amount of problems we had with them were unbelievable (although some were admittedly due to the mechanics, not the bikes) - still, if I were you, I'd spend a bit more and get the carrera subway 1.
