I may have to go for the Chopper thimble, seem pricey though for what they are. Are you familiar with Flying Pigeon parts,A Chopper one will fit, they clean up easily.

It sounds like the sort of thing my LBS would have in a dusty old parts drawer. Give him a call if you want, Geoff Smith Cycles in Bolton, his shop is a bit of an Aladdin's cave so you might get lucky.
