I need to replace the bottom bracket on my Raleigh Equipe. Anyone knows what size the bottom bracket is? My guess would be (English Thread) 68 x 113? I'm going to use a triple speed crankset.

Raleigh have been using the Equipe name for at least 25 years. Specifications may have changed over that time ... early ones were steel, later ones aluminium. My "guess" would also be that the shell would be a 68 mm and hence an English thread, but why ask on here ? Why not go and measure it on your bike ?
The spindle length will be determined by whatever chainset you choose. Shimano Square taper road triples used 113mm IIRC, but Stronglight recommend 110mm, and Shimano MTB (and hybrid) triples are usualy 118mm.

PpPete. Thanks! Okay, so that the shell size is fixed: (in this case most likely) 68 mm and the spindle length depends on the choice of chainset. It was the spindle length part that I couldn't make sense of? Can I measure the bottom bracket without removing it?

You can certainly measure the frame without removing the BB. Easier if you turn the bike upside-down. A good quality steel rule is a minimum. With calipers it's a doddle. Measuring the spindle of a BB really does needs a caliper.

Get yourself something like this. £8 off fleabay uk seller, less from China. IMHO, one of the most useful tools in the armoury of anyone doing more than basic maintenance.
