My latest acquisition .... Raleigh Dyna-Tech 401Ti

Believe 3 main tubes are Ti - rest steel, alloy lugs?

Frame in Great condition - mix of generally older parts on it, campy wheels/first gen dura ace crank etc...

BB5654...any clue to exact year...? Not bad for £150 and a trip to Holmfirth...

Needs the wheels truing and new tires and bar tape and a bit of elbow grease cleaning... then ready to roll....well...when it;s dry...want to look after this one.

I've got one of those!!:hyper:

Mine's now a fixed / SS, but it was my first decent bike. Went touring on it a couple of years ago.
Ti main tubes, steel forks and stays IIRC, but a magnet should confirm that.

The B prefix puts it at about 1991

Bit earlier than I thought. Apparently it was purchased frame only and built up, so that explains the older parts. It does have shimano 105 brakes and Shimano 600 rear mech, which i suspect are nearer to 1991.

The Shimano Victory brake levers are rather nice, though I've yet to inspect under the plaster that is attached to the tip of one of them?

Wheels are Campy hubs - Mel Mel Bentley (Leeds) wheel build - unbranded rims, nice though. Old Cinelli saddle, nice Cinelli stem and bars.

happy days.

Looks like the guy in the pic is just about to clobber you for the unforgivable offence of wearing a vest and speedos on a bike. And rightly so...

I'm not 100% certain, but I think I got mine in '93 as a last years model.
It's still a lovely ride, and now it's a singlespeed it's the lightest bike I've got.

cheers - i've seen a mtb on ebay that is definitely bb prefix 1993, it has all the documentation with it.

so we've successfully narrowed it down to 1992 or 1993

Here's a somewhat fuzzy photo of my one.

It came with Exage kit IIRC, and it's now got Sora brakes, Tektro cross levers, a 105 chainset with just the 39T ring, and 15T fixed / 17T free.
And a Brompton saddle. All parts from the spares pile.
