I took on an unloved Raleigh Raleigh Cameo as project to rennovate for my 14 year old daughter.
Loving the fact that the next generation of kids are into the Vintage/Classic look.
Unfortunately for the purists and for me, my sibling loved the shape but hated the colour. (Brownish Purple)
What followed was a complete strip and repaint, while waiting for the stripper to dom it's work I managed to buff up all the chrome bits
The major expenditure was stripper/paint/sandpaper I bough a retro tan sprung saddle that came with Matching bar grips, NOS pedals, NOS Brake cables and replacement bearings for the crank and headset,
You don't have to be sharp eyed to spot the non Cameo rear mudguard, I may seek out a replacement if mini me has a hissy, but on initial viewing she could barely conceal her excitement, it's the official handover tonight, I'll post a pic of the Restored Cameo with it's new owner later this evening, I have a similar Raleigh Caprice waiting to be fettled need some motivation
