Rain hat

It just wont stop raining here and it's certainly getting colder too, so the old noggin is starting to get a little chilled now. I have a light wooly hat which is fine when it's only cold, but no go for when it's belting down too, which really is more often than not. Does anyone have a suggestion or could they point me in the direction of a thread for a warm water proof head covering for me? I don't wear a helmet BTW.

Skull cap under a normal hat thingy.

I use a windproof skull cap under my bin lid this time of year as the lid is better vented than not wearing one (ice blast).

I have one of these, I got for free; it is effective pretty breathable, warm (but not too warm) and light weight I doubt I'd pay for it though, the £1.99 skull cap from Aldi is almost as good (although not as breathable).

Skullcap for me, even though I don't wear a helmet.
How about a souwester? Long back, as per cycling jackets,to stop water dripping down your neck, strap to secure it. The original waterproof hat. Would probably work under a helmet too.

A skullcap is probably as effective anyway A couple of times I've went out of the door with the skullcap on and only when I was at the far end realised I'd forgotten and I'm relieved to say I didn't die
