That's incredible. I've had two bikes stolen from Bookham ( over 15 years) but haven't bothered reporting either ( old bikes or no insurance) so the real figure makes that sleepy village look like the Bronx.
Not sure what the point of "rate of theft per 100000" passengers is. Presumably they aren't all on bikes. If 99,999 passengers are pedestrians and there's one cyclist that's a really annoyed cyclist.
My local station seems pretty steady at 1 bike theft a year. As there's already been a theft this year, I reckon I don't even need a lock until Christmas.
