Hi all

One of my two rack eyelets has popped out of the frame on my Scott Sportster. (Alu frame)
So not the just the 5mm allen bolt, the allen bolt AND the eyelet it screws into.

How do I get the eyelet back in? It'll push in, but then it pops out again. How is it secured to the frame?
Is it something I can do or is it a bike shop job? In the meantime how safe is the rack being secured by one eyelet? I carry around 5kgs on the bike.

Is it a rivet nut? See this video from 3:50:

I'm guessing that it's one of the upper ones, in which case using just one will be fine. I've had a bike set up with just one for over five years.

I think it is a rivet nut. In which case I haven't got the tools for it so I'll ask at a bike shop.

Yeah it's a top one. I guess it doesn't carry too much weight, but I'll try get it sorted soon.

Best to get it fixed, maybe, but it's not too desperate. On my Ribble, I can't use one of the upper mounting points as it would interfere with the rear brake. Just using one has been fine for as long as I've had the bike, which is well over five years. And that's including touring, shopping, all sorts.
