r501 with 8 speed cassette

I got my 8 speed cassette on but it seems to be a bit wider than 10 speed and overhangs the edge of the hub by a little bit ?
I know they are supposed to be the same width but has anyone run this combination is it ok?
I want to keep this wheelset on as i intend to sell the cxp 22`s with the virtuoso soon.

You cant tighten it up unless it overhangs the hub a little.
