Max Von Sydow has gone to the great bar in the sky. 90 years, so not a bad go, but sad all the same.

I disagree, and always have with people who say it's sad when someone dies at an advanced age like this. His life should be celebrated. He didn't die in his cot or while he was a schoolboy. He didn't die tragically young and he didn't die an unknown. He lived a full and eventful life for 90 years! He appeared in popular movies with big film stars, was well-known and, I hope, made a comfortable living. That's about as good a life as could be hoped for, I would imagine.

I spotted Flash Gordon in the tv listings over the weekend. I suggested we should watch it but everyone else groaned and said no! Wish I had insisted now, what's not to like? A great performance from Sydow and a few of the others and brill Queen soundtrack. Perfect way to spend a boring Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Flash Gordon is fab ! Brian Blessed ! What's not to like, and Ming's daughter. Oh and that chap from Blue Peter.

Your mother sucks........ best ever line by a child actor evvver. How he kept a straight face I’ll never know. I wonder if he asked for an old priest, and a young priest, whilst on his death bed. R.I.P. to another legend.
