Quick tyre question

I presently have tyres labelled 700X40C (42-622) and am after something with more P*cture resistance. Can I swap these out for a pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus 700x35C (37-622)?

Yes.

But you know those metal spring thingies that people use to improve their hand strength? Well it might be an idea to get a couple of those too as Marathon Plus are notoriously stiff and difficult to fit.
