Quick release wheels and disc brakes, am I being thick?

EVERY time I release my QR wheels and put them back on, my brakes (Avid Juicy 3 discs) squeak when I corner and then continue to do so until I lightly apply the brakes again.

When I put the wheel back on I keep the brake applied hard in the hope that this will bring it into true, but it doesn't seem to, the wheel is on tight (although I've tried it looser too) the discs aren't warped at all, and I can't see any reason WHY the maddening squeak is happening

Whenever the LBS services my bike I don't get this noise, what am I doing wrong / how can I ensure it doesn't happen, it drives me mad on long rides

I've no experience of disk brakes but IME its easy to reset/ clamp a wheel slighly off skew (particularly the front) if done in a hurry and I'm more particular to avoid this now ;).

You are disturbing the pads when you take the wheel off, and they will squeak until you put the brakes on again and re-align them. Tis nothing to worry about.

I used to have this problem on my mtb.
How I got round it was to (with the bike upside down) insert the wheel. And whilst leaning on the wheel (with your shoulder) tighten/close the QR. Also try and insert the axle into the dropouts at the same angle each time. Marking the axle with a reference dot of paint was useful.

I should have said that the slight touch of the brakes, is only temporary, within 30s or so the dreaded sqeak is back

I'll try that though Buddha, and let you know how I get on

Nicked this from the web - I have Juicy 3's too.

easier way ALOT EASIER.
From the juicy 3 manual.
squeeze the brake pad 5-6 times for one secind then hold the leaver back for 5 seconds i tried it after doing same as you works a treat, to prevent this, when you get the brakes you get that red plastic spacer between the pads when you remove the wheel put it betwwen the pads (its a spacer) it prevents your pads from adjusting.
