Quick release skewer from Elite Crono Fluid ElastoGel Trainer

The trainer comes with a purpose made spare quick release skewer which I replace my standard one with and which then fits into the base unit to hold the bike in place.

I would like to know whether this QR is suitable or not to use on the road (outdoor)?

Will I have to replace it back to the one that came with my bike Spez Allez every time between turbo and road rides?

I believe they are fine. Although a tad heavier of course.

I plan to use one for the rest of this winter.
