I need a seat bolt clamp for an older bike. The bike is a hybrid Raleigh type affair and does not have a bolt at this point. So... quick release bolts would be ideal, my wife can share the bike with my daughter. My wife weighs in at about 100Kgs, is there a recommend skewer/bolt arrangement that can cope with such a behemoth or should I just go for the normal bolt and try and train them both in the use of ye-olde allen key, which they will lose in no time

I'm a bit confused by what you have at the moment, but the simplest thing would probably be a new quick release clamp which would be a compete component.

There are at least three sizes, so you would need the right one.

The size might be stamped on the existing clamp.

I have a few old ones knocking about, let me know the size and I'll see if I got one you Can have.

Your poor old wife is slim and sylph like compared to me, should have no problem with any regular clamp.

Allen Key bolt, on a Raleigh, sacrilege ....................it should be a big bolt and domed nut with a great big R on it.

Problem is it missing a nut in any form or fashion, it looks like there is a recess for some kind of lug on one side. That said I'm having problems getting the post out anyway so may well be academic. First time WD40 has let me down tbh! It's a Raleigh Vixen btw!

There is normally a little notch in the hole that aligns with a blob on the bolt head to stop it rotating (the bolt has no flats on it) Allen key fittings are available though, your LBS should have some.
