quick question about my bars!

Hey! not been on for a long while! just need some info on raising my bars! i am just wondering if there is any way of raising them just a bit to get a slightly comfier ride starting a new commute of about 12 miles a day soon in a bid to save money! heres a photo any help apriciated!!

I'm no expert but looking at your photo I suspect that the only sensible way to raise your bars would be to replace the bit between your steerer and the bars (don't know it's proper name). Get one with a steeper angle or one that is adjustable that you can tilt to suit you to raise the bars. Bear in mind that if you raise the bars this way you will very slightly shorten the distance between your saddle and the bars. How about new handlebars that are shaped to give a higher grip position. The other alternative is new forks with a longer steerer tube.

Stem... you can get them in all shapes and sizes including with a more upwards geometry.

Compo is right though - because your steerer has been cut, you would need new forks to raise the bars higher at the headtube
