Quick question about chain compatability

I ordered a SRAM PC870 8 sp chain for my mountain bike.

When it arrived it has 9sp printed on the box.

The retailer doesn't list a 9sp PC870, and the SRAM website says the
chain is 8 and 9 speed compatible.

So is it ok to fit it ?
