Hi all,
Haven't found anything specific on this or generally on t'internet so just want to ask:
There is a Campag spacer that comes with the wheels/hub and Shimano one that comes with the cassette. Campag keyed to the hub, the Shimano just a simple ring. Both need to go on, the latter as standard cassette fitting, the former to make the spacing for the 11 - 10 speed. All is good, I just wondered whether it matters which one goes on first?

I'm guessing the Campag one first to hit the hub end, the Shimano one then to butt up against the cassette - but I'd rather ask and get another opinion (on this) than assume....

Unfortunately, Tojo is wrong ...

If you are running a 9s cassette, you need the 1.85 mm spacer supplied with the cassette body / wheel.
If you are running a 10s cassette, you need the 1.85 mm spacer, plus the 1 mm cassette spacer that comes with the (Shimano) cassette
If you are running an 11s cassette, you don't need any spacers at all.

In terms of fitting order, the Campagnolo spacer should go onto the cassette body 1st, followed by the plain Shimano shim washer.

I'd need to check but I'm pretty sure that if you are running an 8s cassette, it's the same as 9s as I think the overall width of the cassette is comparable.

Don't forget to do the locking ring up to the specified torque - well over 50% of the cassettes that we see are not locked down anything like tight enough, resulting in damage to the cassette body and in some cases to very poor indexing ...
