Does anyone know of a offroad/downhill track within the midlands thats accessible by train (then of course cycle the rest) as unfortunately car insurance for a 19 year old chap within the postcode of B11 is £7000 on a 1.0 litre, polo 2001 worth £1500

My guess is I'm probably living in a dream world but if i dont ask i'll never find out

Cannock Chase at only 22 miles is not far, by either train or bike.

You are not insuring the car more the damage you can do with it. Blame the others of your age who do stupid things in cars for the price of insurance.

That's twice I've seen the Lickey Hills mentioned in two days. I lived in NW Coventry for over 20 years and didn't even know they existed. The next time I'm down in Cov with a bike, I must ride over to take a look!

just as many people who are of older age who drive like complete tools and plus i know its not just that, due to my postcode (b11) it smacks it sky high because of the amount of uninsured drivers. Infact its the 2nd worst area within the whole of the UK for uninsured cars

but thanks to everyone for the suggestions

The awesome Long Mynd! Church Stretton station is just at the bottom of it.
+1 for the Long Mynd. Plush Hill Cycles will be able to supply a map of the trails in the area and there are cafes in the town when you need them.

Just beware that you'll be sharing the routes with walkers and horse riders as the Long Mynd isn't a trail centre.
