Hello all you action camera users out there...I've had a few cheapies over the years, but haven't found one that retains the date and time too well. I've just tried the Maxtek from Aldi and this one doesn't either. I even took it back and swapped for another, but it still had the same problem...design issue perhaps? I'm just thinking, if you need to submit video footage of an incident and the date and time are wrong, where do you stand legally...? I guess it's not submissible. Would paying over £100 for a camera cure my problem?

Just check the specs

They will usually tell you

You just write in your statement, "I can confirm that the date and timestamps in the footage are incorrect. The incident actually occurred on the 32nd of February at a quarter past nine PM."

That's your statement, affirmed with your signature, witnessed by the police officer if you ask them to, job done.

Thanks Cunobelin, I did check the spec and it shows how to set, but when switched back on in the morning, it's still set to the previous evening. Drago...it sounds like this is the norm....shame the manufacturers can't get the date and time to work on these devices...it would seem such simple technology to incorporate correctly...
