With the horizontal rear dropouts, I've got a choice of positions for the rear wheel that change the wheelbase by about 2cm. The shortest wheelbase length on my frame is 99cm, which is 1cm longer than my old road bike. The longest length, if I don't use the little screw and position the wheel right in the back of the dropouts, is 101cm.
What are the pros and cons of each option? Will a 2cm difference have a noticeable effect on the handling?
I'm tempted to just stick it as far back as it will go and see how I get on with it. I'm hoping to use it for touring one day in the future, and I assume that's how I'll want it then. If it handles like a boat, I can just move the wheel forward and take a link or two out of the chain.
Does that sounds reasonable?
