Hey guys

I picked up an old Claude butler cape wrath d24 and the brakes are a bit spongy and crap.

I've bled the system which made them better but there is still not enough for me to lock the wheels up.

Anyone know what pads I need to replace the standard pads with? The rotors not a problem just not sure on the pads required. Also would it be better with sintered or organic pads?

Organic pads are softer and will grip better but wear faster, especially in wet muddy conditions.

Sintered are harder, noisier, slightly less grippy and longer-wearing but will wear the disc more in the very long run.

Before wasting money on new pads, check that the old ones aren't contaminated with oil or brake fluid; if they make a juddering squawk as the bike rolls to a stop they are contaminated. Put them in the dishwasher and clean the discs with IPA or window cleaner or meths.
