I was given for Xmas, a GT Timberline 1.0. It has a QR seatpost clamp, which I don't really like as I sometimes commute on it. I can't really remove the saddle to lock it up or take it inside the office as I have a Crud mudguard clamped to the seatpost, but I don't want the saddle nicked. Is it easy to replace the clamp? I don't need QR as I normally have a multitool handy.

Yep just check what diameter your seat tube is and buy accordingly.

When I first started out I thought it was much better having a QR on the seat post. Reconsidered after a long ride home from a friend's house with no seat after it was nicked!
