Q Rings and Crank

Hello,

Im thinking of upgrading to Q Rings.
Emailed them for some advice and very not impressed  with reply so hopefully someone with better communications skills can help here.

I have a Cube Axial GTC and they said that
> We dont make qring sets for triple chainsets.
> But you can fit our double ratio 53ocp3/39 onto your crank on the
> outer and middle rings.

Does this mean that I would still have a triple chainset and that whilst I can change the
two biggest, the smallest will remain what it is?

Also wanted to find out the benefits of using a rotor Crank and the useful reply was

>The cranks decision is yours. We dont make a triple chainset so you will not
>have the 30t inner chainring, can you climb hills without this??

Its your call.

:banghead:

Can anyone offer some advice please?

Thanks

Your Shimano triple is 130 BCD - so you can just get the two standard road rings 53/39t and leave the small ring a it is.

I think that the Rotor cranks offer the same stiffness as say Dura Ace but with an "aerodynamic profile" - ie you will not notice much difference ( if any ) except you might be slightly fresher at the pointy end of a race.

IMHO,elliptical rings are great if you are just pushing down on the pedals in a big gear ( as in Time Trials) - otherwise I can't see the point.

I've used them with carbon lightening cranks, they do seem to be unique and feel as if they work however I personally believe its placebo, I'm not noticeably faster with them and I do not find they make my peddling more effective. The elliptical shape of the Q-ring is not excessive as that off osymetric rings which may be more impressive.
The Q-ring is not particularly stiff either IMHO.
This is the Q-Ring on my Venge.

I'm no longer using them
