How do I go about the transaction of money with another member?

Is there a direct system for you to enter your card details, or do you have to use an external website (Paypal)? If so then how do you do this?

I am wanting to purchase something from the Classifieds but am not sure how to go about it.

I met up and paid cash, but it depends on the distance and size of the purchase.

I've bought and sold here, and both times I trusted them, they trusted me.
I sold a PC, and bought a groupset. The vendor sent the stuff, the purchaser sent a cheque, and they crossed in the post.

I have bought/sold a couple of things, paypal, bank transfer, or even a cheque are ways I have used.
Depends on the agreement of both parties I suppose.

I've paid by bank transfer as well as sending cheque and using PayPal. It's worth noting that you must trust the seller/buyer

Bank transfer & PP here - trust is a hard thing to develop on a fairly anonymous forum, but make sure they have a decent amount of posts (useful and appropriate posts mind), search to see if they have done deals before, that kind of thing.
Have purchased many things on several forums, even received and sent items purely through good will (free!), and never had a problem.

Bought and sold plenty across several forums, and e-bay and never had a problem that left me out of pocket. Had a couple of minor niggles and one last second change of heart which was a pain. But that last was with an unknown quantity and I was a little too trusting, as in agreed a bike split to sell frame only, stripped down bike ready, sold other parts, then frame sale went South on me. I tend to take/make payment by paypal or bank tranx, whichever suits the other party.

Despite internet horror stories most people are reliable and honest, and descriptions tend to the conservative. I bought one used bike on here that it was actually quite hard to see that it had been used. I also take pride in being as accurate and honest as possible. I've never had a complaint, or a return and have had quite a few repeat customers.

But then I'm not trying to make a living at it, just recoup some of my excessive bike spend before indulging in yet more excessive bike spend
