Some locals seem to delight in smashing bottles in cycle-lanes and I get at least a puncture a week  and it's costing me in repairs, so I'm looking for recommendations for puncture-resistant tyres for a road bike.

I've seen these Schwalbe Marathon Plus, http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/product/108869.html and just wondered if anyone uses these or can recommend alternatives.

I use those on my commuter and they are a great tyre. However they sometimes can be a real pain to fit, depends on your wheel.

Try Panaracer Pesela Tourguard much easier to fit and I only had one puncture in over 5000 miles of commuting. Mind you I ride on the road to avoid all of the debris cycle paths in town seem to attract.

I bought mine from St John St. £19.95 each. 26 x 1 3/8"

They were a bit more difficult to mount on the rim than other tyres.

Haven't had a puncture yet in a whole quarter of a mile test ride.

Using Continental Gatorskins always pumped up >100 psi and I've had 2000+ miles with no punctures. No problem fitting. And I think Halfords stock them.

Hope I haven't tempted fate now.

I run Specialized Armadillo stuff at the moment because both bikes ( Hybrid and Mountain) came fitted with them and i have no problems even with the slicks on the Hybrid.
