Puncture on turbo

Had a puncture last night whilst on my turbo trainer, it wasn't a pinch, it was a single hole on the outside of the innertube so tyre side. Strange.............anyone else had this?

No..but I've had (what I'm guessing to be heat) cause the tread to disintegrate on my Schwalbe Duranos.. was quite spooky.. 3x 10 miles on the rollers..and the treads are completely gone.. never seen anything like it..

The more time I spend with rollers,,. the more I wonder if a 2nd pair of wheels.. and a pair of roller specific tyres is worth investing in to....

If the tyres had been used outside then something may have been embedded in the casing beforehand.

If not then I'm baffled.

I couldn't find anything in the tyre, I wonder if it had anything to do with the heat generated. Other to that one of my cats sneakily stuck his claw through my tyre, but he'd got to be Nija fast as he'd of got flipped up off the ceiling as I was doing about 75 rpm lol

I think Palinurus's theory sounds good. If your tyre is squeezed against the roller that bit of hawthorn or whatever could have worked it's way in. Maybe you need to adjust the pressure a bit.

A training tyre could be the way to go...

i have a training Tyre as the bike on my trainer stays on there and i still keep getting punctures its nothing to do with heat as the training Tyre doesn't get hot is there a certain type of inner tube im suppose to use ???
