*Stupid Question Alert*

So I've got a road bike (Trek 1.2 2011 if it makes a difference) and need to get a (tracK?) pump to put more pressure into the tyres. Does it make a difference to what pump I buy as obviously it has a different nozzle on the inner tube to a standard BSO?

It's worth getting a track pump as it is (IMO) easier to get the tyres up to the 100+ psi than with a frame or mini pump. The nozzle should come equiped to handle both presta (thin with knurly lock at the tip) and schreader (as seen on cars) valves. They also come with pressure guages (and some even have the long thin thing for inflating footballs)

When exploring for a puncture I tend to use a mini pump on the naked tube. I just find it more suited to that job.

As for a reccomendation, you won't go far wrong with a Joe Blow

Lidl are selling track pumps for £6 on Monday and they have double barrel foot pumps for £5 now.

and looks very similar to the Topeak but with fatter tube. Has anyone got one are they worth a punt. I got the Aldi 1 a couple of years ago but don't rate it.

Took too long posting but at least I put in the link

I don't have one. So long as it held together it should be OK, but it won't do for me as ...

Max. pressure: (psi/bar): 116/8

... and I like to run my tyres at 120psi. Only 4psi I know, but wouldn't want to be pushing the envelope and have it go bang.

had one of the Lidl ones but it basically blew itself apart! Was fine on the mountain bikes, but no good for road and 110-120 psi

The lidl and Aldi pumps make good inexpensive back ups to leave in the office but I've heard horror stories about them blowing up so I wouldn't want to use them often. Mine also struggle to get anywhere near 85psi and are awkward to get a good seal. When I bought mine I think the lbs had 3 or 4, the bloke advised me to get the middle one pricewise after 5 years I don't think he was wrong.

Not a stupid question!

I can recommend the Joe Blow.

Lidl ones are rated at 116 psi but you won't reach that, the best mine done was 82 psi and that was a struggle getting there! the one from last year blew the top cap off after four or five uses .. the Joe Blow ones get good ratings and the one I use now This is very good for £20
