Hi Guys,

Have any of you come across the Puch Buckingham, I think it is a men's 7 speed road bike with normal bars.

Asking as I should be collecting one at the weekend, just wondering if anyone could advise on what to expect? Components/weight? Guessing it should be lighter than the Hercules three speed.

Picked this one up today, 7 speed with a sachs huret derailleur, looks like the paint work just needs a good clean. Shame the Corsair San Marco saddle has split on one of the back corners, looks like a nice saddle.

The frame has 2500 markings on both the frame and the forks is a similar format to the 501 on the raleighs. Has anyone come across this before?

Debating whether to keep this normal, go for the look I did with my Hercules or put some road bars on it?

Here is a pic from the ad, not had chance to take any yet.

I have a Puch Elegance which was new in 1967.
I've been wondering what to do with it. It only needs the tyres pumping up! I last rode it about 3 years ago when my new (1985!) bike was being serviced .

Just noticed the rims are weinmann with 27 1/4 tyres and all the chrome appears to be ok. Might keep this one original and maybe just change the saddle. Think it just needs a good clean as it had been stored.

Here's a few pics after giving it a quick wipe down, a bit rough in places but seems perfectly rideable, the wheels appear to be weinmann alloy wheels, so it should stop too.

The paint has the same finish as the record sprint almost like a plastic film, not sure how else to describe it.

Off out for a couple of mile test ride in a bit, so I'll soon know if it rides fine too.

Just noticed a very warn out Ron Spencer sticker on it too!

Hi there, I found your post after looking for further info on a Puch Buckingham, i've recently acquired one in Sydney, Australia. Possibly the only one in the country, seems to be quite rare.

They guy I got it from told me it was from 2001, but looks at least 20 years older than that to me. I think it was privately imported in 2001 from U.K.

  1. It has a sticker on the Top Tube for:
    Bikes Branksome
433 Poole Rd, Poole BH12 1DQ, United Kingdom
It's in really good condition. These are the specs
  • SACHS HURET 5 SPEED GEARS
  • 27" x 1 1/4" KENDA GUMWALL TYRES WITH SOME FINE CRACKS. STILL GOOD
  • WEINMANN WHEELS
  • WEINMANN SYMETRICS BRAKES AND LEVER
  • SELLE ROYAL COMFORT SADDLE
  • FRIKO SUPER TOURING HANDLEBARS
  • ESGE GERMAN REAR RACK
Rides really nice and smooth, gears need a bit of tweaking, I'm not very familiar with Sachs Huret.

The saddle is a bit short and uncomfortable...

Any further info you've got would be much appreciated.

Cheers
P
