Prone to Punctures

Last weekend I upgraded to a road bike with skinny tyres after 6 months of trouble free comuting on my old mountain bike with knobbly tyres. I've had 2 punctures so far, both on the inside of the tube (i.e. the bit that presses against the rim, rather than the tyre) Am I just unlucky or could there be something wrong with my wheel ? I've checked the Rim Tape and it had slipped a bit, exposing the top (?) of the spoke but it wasn't sticking up. I am a hefty chap, 18stone or so, could the pressure of my bulk on the back wheel have something to do with it ?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks.

I would get that rim tape changed. It shouldn't slip.
For the cost of the tape (£2) it's not worth wonder 'if'.

100psi. I'm going to change the rim tape tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a problem with this. The bike is from halfords (bike to work scheme). The bike's great, easily a good enough next step up for a beginner like me but the service from the bike 'specialists' in the shop has been awful. They supposedly built it and gave it a comprehensive multi point check or something. They forgot to fit half the stuff I ordered, the brakes didn't stop me when i first rode it, they didn't pump the tyres up to the correct pressures and they sold me the wrong size inner tubes, which i found out about when I was out on it and had my first puncture. I've complained about them via my work but I'll steer clear of Halfords future I think.

Thanks for the advice anyway.
