My son has a Ridgeback MX16 which can go to full lock when turning left but only has a slight turn when turning right as per attached photos, can anybody please diagnose the problem and give me a clue as to how to sort it?
That's a strange one. Something must be stopping it but what? The bike looks new so I would take it back to the shop for a fix. I can say though that it won't affect functionality in everyday riding.
Thanks for replies so far.
The bike is about 18 months old so I would probably be charged if I took it back, was hoping for a free fix off this site.
The cables aren't stopping it, its definitely something mechanical.
If it isn't cables snagging then the only option is to strip it down until you find the reason. First take off the wheel and then grip the forks to see if they turn smoothly. If that doesn't give you a clue then take the stem out and try turning the forks again. If this still doesn't reveal the problem then you will need to strip the headset and inspect he bearings.
Another picture from the front and side might help us have a stab at any obvious cause you are overlooking?
