Problem changing to the big ring

Ahh I return to the well of knowledge...

Hoping someone can shed some light on this...Sora double groupset - when changing from the small ring I have to click the shifter up again for it to go up into the big ring i.e. where the indexing would be for a triple.

Hope that makes sense...are there any basic adjustments that can be made to sort the front derailleur to 'stop' in the correct position?

Sorry for any ambiguity, need to brush up on my mechanic-ing skills!

I have a sora triple - I find that you have to double click/shift it to get it to move up to the big ring; unless someone corrects I've found this to be the general thing for the Sora system and not a fault.

Is that what you are asking as it's not 100/% clear.

The middle click (up or down)allows for adjusting the front mech when the chain rubs on it and allows you to use more of the rear cogs at the extremes of the cassette, if that makes sense. like a sort of fine adjustment.
