I did the 90km route on Sunday, it was a fabulous day. The route marking definitely deteriorated the further through the course you went, by the end it was pretty hopeless I thought with just enough marked to get round.<div><br></div><div>I've just been looking at the finishing times for all the riders. 120 people completed the 90km course and you came in 103 place, I worked your average out to be around 14.5mph which would include any time that you stopped on the course. Adding in the extra 20km that you did brings your average up to about 15mph and would have put you in 60th place, so right in the middle of the field which for your first sportive is a great place to be.</div><div><br></div><div>Every sportive that I ride reminds me of how fit other people are and how much room I have got for improvement - they are great motivators for me to get better. The ride on Sunday was one of the flatest sportives you will find anywhere with only 580m climbing for the 90km route, so it was ideal as my first event of the year. You will find that most sportives are around 1500m climbing over 100km - you will see what I mean when you do the Chiltern Dipper!</div>
