I'm after a new jersey from Santa and I quite fancy this from Primal.

I haven't had stuff from Primal before. Is their stuff any good?

What's the sizing like? (Do they come up big or small or are their size guides pretty accurate?)

Are there any other similar jerseys by other companies? I also like this but they don't have it in my size.

Thanks.

Very good. I have a whole wardrobe of their cycling jerseys and shorts. They are American sizes which means somewhat on the large size but go by their size guide. I used to order it all from the States but they now have a European outlet. I like their designs and the fact I don't look like a team wanabee and mobile advert hording.

Seem pretty decent - like a lot of jerseys now, it's not the more lycra-like stuff, so you need to be careful with velcro near it 'cos it snags relatively easily.

Sizing - the fit depends a bit on the cut and how close-fitting you want. I bought one of each of the Rush jerseys a little while back (I thought mebbe they were the end of a run, but looks like they're still making them - I think the stock list varies from time to time..)

- whereas the two older designs (star, owl) - one raglan - fit well (I bought small, being about 38-39" with 31-32" waist), the more recent (white/red) flatlock stitched shirt seems to be tighter, particularly in the armpits, despite being the same measurement across the armpit seams as the other two (I think mebbe the sleeves are narrower and the flatlock stitching kinda rubs on underarm hair). So I might have been better off with a medium in that case, but another 2" in the chest might have been too big anyway..

They were very helpful by mail, and gave me some measurements (eg hem/chest width, collar>hem length)

I bought them directly from the US - postage wasn't a lot, and they seemed to arrive within about a week - I'm not even sure I paid any customs fees on it, but that would have been more luck than anything. Apart from being cheaper, there's also a more choice on the US site - admittedly I bought a bunch of band shirts but, as RL wrote, they've got some really good designs. ISTR it's worth checking all the areas of the site - outlet/closeout etc - 'cos I think some things appear in some and not others

Here's the answer to my size query:

"I’ve gone ahead and measured the SM and MD jerseys for you at the areas listed. The length from the middle armpit seam is 19.5 inches on the SM and 21.5 inches on the MD. The length from the top to the bottom in the front is 22 inches in the SM and 24 inches in the MD."

The armpit seam measurements correspond with all three of mine at 19.5", with the fronts being 22-22.5 " - the raglan feels a little more generous since the sleeves are a little wider.

I think one of the european reseller sites lists hem width too.

Thanks for the replies, very helpful and much appreciated. I didn't realise you could order from the US site so I will have a look on there as well. Its always tricky buying clothing online from a brand you haven't bought before.

Those Rush shirts look really good, especially the Star one. At the risk of hijacking my own thread I love Rush, great band, Neil Peart is my favourite drummer! IMHO 2112 and Hemispheres are the best. You can't beat La Villa Strangiato live. I stopped after Grace Under Pressure though, although Snakes and Arrows is also supposed to be good.

It's also worth looking on the US eBay.

I've bought several (discounted new with tags) from a seller called Love2Pedal. Delivery in less than a week for $10.

I guess they're what got me listening to rock/metal after hearing Geddy wailing on 2112 ;) - they're probably 3 of my favourite musicians, tho' guitar/bass is more my thing. I mostly missed the decade after Roll The Bones (I guess the period covering Pearts own problems, and lack of UK visits) - but I've seen them on the all the tours since/including Vapour Trails. The recent stuff's good too, just different to the later, earlier stuff, IYSWIM..kinda need to pick up the right one to get listening to the rest mebbe...

Thanks for that - they are cheaper on Love2Pedal, and you get a free pair of DeFeet socks:smile:

Hmm, going to have to go and dig out Exit Stage Left for a listen now. Much as I loved Rush, Geddy was never my favourite vocalist. Don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike him and they wouldn't have been the same without him. I think we should start a separate Rock / metal appreciation thread!!
