Price of 2008 Campag range this Autumn

Does anybody have any thoughts on what will happen to the price of current Campag components once the new shape shifters and 11 speed is released?

My thoughts are turning to upgrading from 9 to 10 speed this winter and I've been hoping that perhaps the price of current kit will drop a bit as new stuff comes in to supersede it.

Ergos should drop, but is the change so trivial that the ranges will run side by side? Before the publicity about next year, I was thinking Veloce but now one wonders whether Centaur Ergos might be in reach. I don't think UT chainsets and cassettes will change.

I was looking to upgrade the groupset from Veloce to Chorus this winter, in readiness for the following spring. But since 11sp. was announced I'm hoping that 10sp. prices will come down and maybe, if the price is right mind, going for 10sp. Record!

The price of one of the 11 speed groupsets, either Record or Chorus will remain the same as the current ten speed, and the other one will decrease by two per cent.

Can't remember which way round though.

Record is the one that's dropping by 2%....a bit cheeky as it's losing all it's Ti fixtures and fittings.

I doubt whether Record/Chorus 10 Ergos will drop in price much.....9 speed didn't...and in fact are still quite high compared to what they were. Having said that there is the new shape rather than just the same thing with a different ratchet. I seriously doubt a 10 speed Record rear mech will go down in price but I guess we'll soon see.

Merlin Cycles are knocking out a 39/53 Veloce groupset for £225 at the moment. BTW I have Centaur on my best bike, and to be honest there isn't a huge difference (that I can see or feel) between the two groupsets, apart from the shifters which are carbon on the centaur and aluminium on the Veloce, Centaur chainrings have a marginally better appearance/machining I suppose. Overall though the quality at this level is better IMO than the equivilant shimano groups, but I would say that wouldn't I !
