I'm not looking to buy either bike but was just wondering about the price difference between the two.

Both these bikes seem to be similarly specced on the whole.

Aluminium frame
105 groupset
Disc brakes
Not sure on wheels.

The trek is £1775
The ribble is £1299
So £546 of a difference.

Ribble

The tiagra versions with similar specs have a similar price difference.
Trek is £1495
Ribbe is £999.

Any idea why such a price difference?

I know trek are a bigger company than ribble.

And...why not....if you had to choose between the 2, which would you go for...and why? (went a bit blind date there!)

All new Ribble frames and forks are sold with a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty
i guess you pay for Trek.
we back every bike with the best lifetime warranty in the business, all the way back to our very first frames built in 1976.
Having had cause to take advantage of it it is a worthy consideration.
