As part of a proposed redevelopment of the A56 in Prestwich, Warwick Street may be permanently closed to traffic. See the plans here: http://www.bury.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=11864. Along with making Clifton Road one way this would force cyclists to use the busier and longer route via Chester Street if needing to access the high street. I propose Warwick Street should remain accessible by cyclists to allow greater permeability. If this impacts you or you share my views please contact the council on the above link.
